How it works

Four steps. One student stays.

Start your page

Tell us why, set a goal and add a photo. It takes about five minutes.

We say yes

Someone at EFF looks it over, usually within a day or two, and emails you when it's live.

Share your link

Text it, post it, put it in your bio, bring it to your group chat.

A student stays

Every gift goes to the EFF Student Fund: scholarships and emergency grants for college students.

Many ways to make a difference

Pick your moment.

Every one of these becomes your own page with a goal bar, your story and your photo.

Pledge your birthday

Give your birthday a purpose

Ask the people who love you to give to students instead of gifts. Every year older, one more student stays.

Turn 21 for 21 students: ask for $21 each.Start this →
Honor a loved one

Honor or remember someone

Celebrate a graduate, a mentor, a mother, or remember someone who believed in education. Their name stays on the page.

"In memory of Grandma Ruth, who never got to go."Start this →
Get active

Run it, walk it, step it

A 5K, a step show, a dance-a-thon, a basketball game. Make every mile and every move count for a student.

A mile for every $10 your people give.Start this →
Graduation

Graduate and give back

You made it. Ask your family to help the next student across the stage.

"I finished. Help someone else finish too."Start this →
Greek life & student orgs

Rally your chapter or org

Fraternities, sororities, clubs and teams: make it a service project and a friendly competition.

Chapter vs. chapter: who keeps more students in school?Start this →
Church & ministry

Bring your church family

A youth Sunday, a women's ministry, a scholarship Sunday. Let your congregation stand behind a student.

Workplace

Give together at work

A team challenge, a jeans day, a match from your company. Bring your coworkers in.

Ask your employer to match every gift.Start this →
Weddings & anniversaries

Celebrate love by giving

Ask guests to give to students instead of (or alongside) a registry.

"Our favorite gift: helping a student stay."Start this →
Your own idea

Make it yours

A bake sale, a car wash, a gaming stream, a talent show. If it brings people together, it can keep a student in school.

Anything that's yours, legal and kind.Start this →
We've got your back

You bring your people. We handle the rest.

A crisis doesn't wait for a semester to end. A rent bill, a balance hold, a car that broke down: that's often all that stands between a student and the degree. Your fundraiser is how a student hears "you don't have to leave."

Questions

Good to know.

Where does the money go?

Every gift goes to the EFF Student Fund, which gives scholarships and emergency grants to college students so a money problem doesn't end their education. EFF chooses who receives help through its own applications and review committee.

Can I raise money for one specific student?

No. To keep it fair and safe for students, gifts go to the Student Fund and EFF decides awards through its application and review process. You're welcome to fundraise in honor of someone.

Are gifts tax-deductible?

Esther Funds Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity, EIN 93-4917509. Every donor gets an emailed receipt. Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent the law allows; donors should check with their own tax advisor.

Do I ever handle the money?

No. Donors give by card on your page and the money goes straight to EFF through Stripe. If someone wants to give cash or a check, email nationals@estherfundsinc.org first and we'll tell you how.

Why does EFF approve my page first?

Your page carries EFF's name, so someone at EFF reads it before it goes live. It's usually a day or two. If something needs to change, we'll tell you why.

Who can start a fundraiser?

Anyone 18 or older. A parent or guardian can start one for a student who is younger.

Can I hold an event?

Yes, and we love that. EFF can't pay for event costs, sign contracts or guarantee someone from EFF can be there. Please don't run a raffle or lottery for EFF without asking us first, because raffles have their own state laws.

Can I use EFF's logo?

Ask us for the official files at nationals@estherfundsinc.org. Never change the logo or make your own version, and please don't put EFF's name on something you sell without asking.

What if I don't reach my goal?

Every dollar still counts and still goes to students. You can change your goal any time from your private page.
